Figurative Sculpture
My work speaks to the quiet-voiced, the overlooked, the hidden - and says : "You are noticed, you are valued, you are loved."
Christine Pike, MA
About
me
I have sculpted, in one medium or another, for most of my life.
Since 2012 I have been a sculptor, figure maker, and curator.
I now work almost exclusively in paperclay, found objects, and mixed media.
I take my inspiration from the natural world and from folklore. My pieces tell stories about what happens when we drop our social masks and reconnect with the Wild Dance of life. Sometimes my figures disguise themselves as animals. Occasionally they are caught in the act of transformation; part human, part beast...
New Work for 2024
As a life-long cat lover I wanted to create a
series of characters to make you smile.
Witty and joyous, they are a celebration of
the force of nature that is Cat!
“The smallest feline is a work of art.”
(Leonardo da Vinci)
